For customers with mobility issues or wheelchair users who plan to arrive by car or taxi but do not require parking, there is a drop-off point immediately outside at the main entrance/ front doors to the Villa Marina with level access to all areas via the main foyer. The main foyer can be accessed using a push-pad automatic door (right-hand side double doors of the main entrance).

Wheelchair/disabled access

In 2020 Dragon’s Castle underwent an extensive overhaul introducing changes to the facility that ensured that the play area was an inclusive play environment and an accessible space to as many children as possible, regardless of their abilities.

VillaGaiety is proud to have introduced a sensory area on the ground level of the play structure, designed for babies, younger children and children with additional needs. The sensory area has fantastic equipment including; chrome tubes, fiber optic lighting, chandeliers, some bubble stubs and beads, sensory music and some comfy bean bags inside too. By introducing sensory play, the Dragon’s Castle facility provides a fun and engaging way for both young children and children with additional needs to be positively challenged with visual, sound and tactile opportunities to help them develop certain skills and actions. Moreover, we hope that the changes to the play area ensure that children of all abilities can come and enjoy the social interaction of attending a soft play area too.

Wheelchair loan

The Villa Marina has a wheelchair available to borrow for use whilst at the venue, please ask at the Villa Marina Box Office or a member of duty staff to request use of this. This is subject to availability. We advise that those customers who may request to borrow wheelchairs ensure they have assistance to operate and manoeuvre the chairs.
