EVENT DESCRIPTION
VillaGaiety will be trialling Disability/SEN Play Sessions of our popular Pop-in & Play series. Sessions are intended for children who attend Specialist Provision Centres (SPCs) within Isle of Man schools, as well as children with autism and those with additional learning or developmental needs.
SPCs are specialised, highly personalised learning environments within mainstream schools that support pupils with severe or complex learning needs.
Sessions will be limited to 15 children and are designed only for those unable to access mainstream sessions to ensure children can attend with as much support as they need to enjoy a comfortable, fun-filled play session.
Whilst our Pop-in & Play sessions are usually aimed at children up to the age of seven for mainstream sessions, our Disability sessions are aimed at primary-aged children whose developmental needs mean they would benefit from a quieter, more supported environment.
The sessions will provide a calmer, more supported play experience in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Please note a responsible adult is required to support their child(ren) for the duration of the Pop-in & Play session.
Pop-in & Play Session Times
- Each child’s admission ticket can be redeemed for TWO free hot drinks (tea, coffee or hot chocolate). All you need to do is show your ticket to redeem the complimentary drinks.
About
- Duffy Waldo and Nel invite your little explorers to jump, climb, side and swing at Dragon's Castle!
- The play area includes a sensory area, especially for babies, younger children and children with additional needs. As part of this area, we’ve got some fantastic equipment including chrome tubes, fibre optic lighting and chandeliers and some bubble stubs and beads, plus there are some comfy bean bags inside too. We hope that by introducing sensory play, this provides a fun and engaging way for both young children and children with additional needs to be positively challenged with visual, sound and tactile opportunities to help them develop certain skills and actions. Not only that but Duffy, Waldo and Nel wanted to make sure that children of all abilities can come and enjoy the social interaction of attending a soft play area too.
Food & Drink
- Food and drink is available to purchase at Dragon's Castle. Unlimited juice is available throughout the session.
Conditions of Play
- The soft play equipment is only suitable for children that are 4ft or under or children up to and including 7 years of age. Children must be accompanied and supervised by parents/ guardians for the duration of each session.
- This session is limited to 15 children and is designed for those who may find busy play environments overwhelming or difficult to access.
- Only food and drink purchased from Dragon's Castle can be consumed within the premises at the Pop-in and Play sessions.
