This Christmas, Beauty and the Beast arrives at the Gaiety Theatre… bringing with it a dazzling mix of magic, mischief and magnificent mayhem.
Brought to you by Stage-ed - the team behind recent smash-hit pantomimes Cinderella, Aladdin and Dick Whittington, comes a brand-new festive spectacular packed with big laughs, big spectacle and even bigger panto chaos.
Join Belle as she sets out to rescue her sister from the mysterious Beast of Peel Castle, where secrets hide behind every enchanted door…
But this is panto so... naturally… everything goes slightly off track.
Will the wicked Duke of Douglas ruin Belle’s dreams of becoming a true Princess? Will Marigold and her long-suffering son Silly Billy ever perfect their Super Sloppy Soapy Cleaner… or just redecorate the stage with it? Will the Beast remain beastly…?
And will true love save the day?
Starring a sensational cast -
- Jolyon Dixon returns for his fourth fabulous year as the outrageous Dame Marigold McGusset (expect wigs… lots of wigs)
- Stephen Donald is back as the wicked Duke of Douglas (get those boos ready…)
- Amy Convery returns as Belle - brave, brilliant… and in for a very busy Christmas
- And not forgetting a fantastic junior ensemble of talented local performers

Age guidance
- Suitable for all ages. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult (18+)
Relaxed / Chilled Performance: Tuesday 29th December @ 2:00pm
This performance is open to all, however, designed to welcome visitors with a disability or sensory sensitivities, their friends, and families to the theatre and offers the following:
- Lights in the auditorium are kept low so it's not too dark
- You can make noise during the show
- You can come and go as you please
- If you need a break there are chill-out areas in the foyer/bars
BSL Performance: Wednesday 30th December @ 7:00pm
- British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter will be interpreting this show for D/Deaf, deafened and hard -of-hearing patrons.
Seating
- Seats are allocated/reserved so please ensure you check your section/ row and seat numbers before taking your seats.
- Customer notice regarding Boxes: please note that for full stage productions, views of some parts of the stage (depending on which side of the auditorium you are seated) may be somewhat limited or restricted. This view restriction does not usually impact other performances.
Bars
- Please note that, for select performances, our bars will be open for pre-show and interval service, offering a selection of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. For your convenience, plastic, reusable drinkware will be available should you wish to take your drink to your seat and enjoy at your leisure. Bars will remain closed during the show. Performances with bar service will be announced in due course.
Booking fee
- All ticket prices for live performances only are subject to a 5% booking fee, which will be applied at the point of sale to all purchases, whether made online or in person at our Box Office.
