Gaiety Theatre Memories by Shirley June Kirby

I have so many Memories far too many favourites to choose, the most memorable one being delighted I had been offered Box Office Assistant ! Best year , if I have to pick , would be the Centenary when both original productions were once again brought to the audiences (The Telephone Girl As per original score and script and Corsican Brothers As per original script for the play , and using the Corsican trap to create the ghost illusion) I was by this time Assistant FOH Manager and what a busy but special year 2000 was, with Mervin at the helm and organising a momentous occasion for the Theatre.

So glad I’m back (After retirement) occasionally helping in Box Office with John and the team!

The Corsican Brothers

The Telephone Girl

With Ben Fogle - this is one of the last events held in the Gaiety Theatre before the COVID-19 lockdown
