An Evening with Bruce Mouat - Sponsored by Zurich Isle of Man Pride Committee

Join us for a fascinating evening with Bruce Mouat, one of the most successful and influential figures in modern British sport.

Bruce is a two-time Winter Olympic silver medallist, two-time World Champion, and four-time European Champion in curling. As skip of Team GB and Scotland, he has helped lead one of the most successful eras in British curling history, inspiring a new generation of athletes and fans alike. Following the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing in 2022 and Milano Cortina in 2026, curling has experienced significant growth in participation and interest across the UK, with Bruce playing a major role in raising the sport’s profile through his performances on the world stage.

This special event will explore the dedication, teamwork, leadership, and resilience required to compete at the highest level of international sport. Whether you are involved in curling, another sport, or simply interested in the mindset of elite athletes, Bruce’s experiences will offer valuable insights into what it takes to achieve sustained success under pressure.

The conversation will also look beyond the ice sheet, exploring Bruce’s personal journey and the challenges and opportunities that come with being a high-profile athlete. In 2014, Bruce came out to his teammates and has since become an important role model for LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport. As one of the few openly gay male elite athletes in Great Britain, he has used his platform to help promote greater visibility, acceptance, and inclusivity across the sporting landscape.

Drawing on experiences from grassroots participation through to Olympic competition, the evening will touch on topics including leadership, team culture, mental resilience, diversity and inclusion, and the evolving role of sport in building stronger and more welcoming communities.

The second half of the evening will be dedicated to audience questions, giving attendees the opportunity to hear directly from Bruce about his career, experiences, and perspectives. Questions can be submitted on the night, making for an engaging and interactive discussion.

Whether you are an athlete, coach, volunteer, administrator, supporter, or simply someone with an interest in sport and human performance, this promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking evening with one of Britain's leading sporting figures.
