2018 proved to be another very busy year for Level 42 with a tour of Scandinavia, 17 festivals played, and all this ahead of a 32 date sold out UK & European tour in October and November, so the band could be forgiven for wanting to take things a little easier after 38 years in the saddle. “No way!” says bassist and front man Mark King.
2019 will see the next chapter of the Eternity Tour as the guys take to the road with a string of festivals and concerts already in the diary, and venues booked for 2020…
To date the band and Mark have released 14 studio albums, 7 live albums, the Sirens’ EP, and 6 compilation albums, had 18 top 40 singles, including Lessons in Love, Something About You, Leaving Me Now, Running in the Family, and Hot Water, sold out Wembley Arena for a total of 21 nights and sold in excess of 30 million albums
In short they have proven to be one of the most successful British bands of the 1980’s, and with the recent re-issues of the bands vast catalogue on Universal Music, and the ‘Collected’ series on CD and Vinyl, it is clear they continue to be a benchmark for British Jazz Funk at the highest level.
